The syllabus prescribed hereunder for the tests is generally the same as the one followed for the B.Sc. / B.Com. / B.A. Degree under the Common Core Sheme 1995-98, unless otherwise specified.

Test No & Subject 31 - Adult & Continuing Education
Part-A Current Affairs: Important Regional, National and International events and happenings.

General Knowledge: Historical, Political geographical, Environmental, Commerce and Trade, Sports, Awards, Prizes. Important milestone in the Scientific and other spheres.
Part-B Contemporary development programmes, Human Resource development. Development Planning (Micro & Macro) Training strategies and Integrated Development; Continuing Education and Development, Mission approach to Literacy Development various Indian Literacy/Adult Education Programmes. Population Education, Health Education, Environmental Education, Non-Formal Education and Post Literacy Programmes, Development Education for special groups and National Policies and Adult Education.
Part-C 1. Principles (Foundations): Philosophical - Psychological and Social foundation 2. Historical Aspects: (a) Historical perspective with particular reference to adult literacy - Main development during the current century. (b) Meaning of Adult literacy - Concept of functional literacy (c) Magnitude of literacy in India and in Andhra Pradesh. Brief work done in India to eradicate illiteracy Role of Educational Institution and voluntary organisations - Education and Social Education in five year plans - State and Central Government Scheme - An over view of community development programme in India. 3. Methodology: Curriculum and Agencies of Adult Education. 4. Planning, Organisation and Administration of Adult Education and major activities of Non-Government Organisations working in the field of Adult Education - Aids in Adult Education.
